I work exclusively in solid timber simplifying the designs down to the essential elements which are carefully  proportioned, shaped and joined. Natural finishes such as oil and wax enhance the colour and texture of the wood.

Each piece is custom-made and individual. Work to commission begins with a dialogue with the customer from which the design evolves.

Furniture is available for sale at galleries and exhibitions. These are usually new designs, developed around timber of exceptional character.

For the home; cabinets, chests of drawers, tables, chairs, sideboards, desks, shelving, dressing tables and beds are some of the many items of furniture produced. Also work for offices, and other special commissions are undertaken. The gallery pages show examples of work made over the last five years.

I select English hardwoods from a supplier who is also an expert in woodland management and involved in extensive replanting. The timbers used most frequently are Oak, Elm, Ash, Sycamore, Cherry, and Walnut.
